Application notes

The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

Type of application?
Bring the medicine into the oral cavity. Spread it in the oral cavity. Leave the medicine in the mouth on the mucous membrane and then swallow it down.

Duration of the application?
Without medical advice, you should not apply the medicine for more than 5 days if the symptoms have not improved after this time.

Overdose?
In the event of an overdose, vomiting and diarrhea can occur. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor immediately.

Forgot application?
Continue the application as normal at the next prescribed time (not with the double quantity).

Infants from 4 months and children up to 2 years 1,25  ml 4 times a day distributed over the day after the meal

How does the ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient intervenes in the metabolism of the mushrooms, there is a lot of damage in the structure of the mushrooms. For example, the outer shell, the so -called cell membrane of the mushrooms, is changed in its structure. This cover loses part of its functions, for example, it becomes more impermeable to nutrients - the cell is starving. Depending on the active ingredient concentration, the mushrooms are inhibited in their growth and increase or they die directly from the interior of the cell.

Which age group must be observed?
- Infants in the first 3 months of life: the medicine must not be used.

- Be careful with allergy against mushrooms (e.g. clotrimazole)!

Daktar 2% mouth gel (pack size: 40 g) is a mushroom -killing medicine for the treatment of fungal diseases of the mucous membrane (antifungal) in infants from 4 months, children and adults.

Contradictions

  • The medicine must not be used,
    • if you or the child to be treated are hypersensitive (allergic) against miconazole or one of the other components of the preparation.
    • if you or the child to be treated suffer from liver dysfunction.
    • in infants under 4 months and children in whom the swallow reflex is not yet fully trained.
    • if you or the child to be treated at the same time take medicinal products that are broken down by the body via a certain metabolism (via the enzyme cytochrome-p450-3a4):
      • certain medicines for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, e.g. B. pridil, doftilid, chinidine.
      • certain medicines for allergies, e.g. B. Terfenadin, Astemizole, Mizolastin.
      • the drug Cisaprid for the treatment of disorders in the digestive tract.
      • certain medicines for the treatment of psychiatric disorders, e.g. B. Pimozid, Sertindol.
      • the medicine halofantrin for the treatment of malaria.
      • certain medicines for the treatment of migraines that contain so -called mother -grain alkaloids as an active ingredient.
      • certain medicines for cholesterol reduction (HMG-Coa reductase inhibitors, e.g. Simvastatin, Lovastatin).
      • certain sleeping and sedative (Triazolam and Midazolam to take).

  • Always apply this medicine as described or exactly according to the consultation made with your doctor or pharmacist. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • The recommended dose is:
    • Infants from 4 months and children up to 2 years
      • Single dose: 1/4 measuring spoon gel (corresponding to 1.25 ml or 25 mg miconazole)
      • Total dose: 4 x 1/4 measuring spoon gel (corresponding to 100 mg miconazole)
    • Children from 2 years and adults
      • 1/2 Measuring spoon gel (corresponding to 2.5 ml or 50 mg miconazole)
      • 4 x 1/2 measuring spoon gel (corresponding to 200 mg miconazole)

 

  • Duration of the application
    • Treatment should continue at least one week beyond the disappearance of the symptoms.
    • If the signs of the oral building do not go back within the first 5 days after the start of treatment, you must see a doctor.
    • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak.

 

  • If you have used a larger amount than you should
    • If you go to Viel Mundgel, there may be vomiting and diarrhea.

 

  • If you have forgotten the application
    • Do not apply the double dose if you have forgotten the previous application.

Taking

  • Apply the preparation over the day 4 times after meals.
  • Apply the mouth gel with a clean finger on the oral mucosa and distribute it evenly.
  • If you use the medicine in infants and toddlers, then
    • apply the mouth gel in small individual portions.
    • put the gel in front in the mouth and in no way in the throat so that it does not get into the airways.
  • The gel should be kept in the mouth for as long as possible and then swallowed.
  • When it comes to daily dental care, braces should also be brushed with the medicine.

Patient information

  • Warnings and Precautions
    • Special caution is required,
      • when the disease occurs for the first time.
      • if you or your child to be treated have occurred several times over the past 12 months.
      • if you or the child to be treated take additional medicines. If the preparation is used at the same time, there is the possibility of drug interactions that can trigger symptoms.
    • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation.
    • Children and adolescents
      • In premature babies or in children with delayed neuromuscular development, the lower age limit should be increased to 5 to 6 months.
  • Aspiration in infants and toddlers
    • Caution is required, especially in infants and toddlers (4 months to 2 years) so that the gel does not close the neck. Therefore, the gel should not be used in the back of the throat. Each dose should be divided into small individual portions and applied with a clean finger in the mouth. Infants and toddlers should therefore also be observed after the application.

 

  • Wateriness and ability to operate machines
    • The medicine has no influence on the ability to use and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
  • Pregnancy
