Patient information

  • Warnings and Precautions:
    • During long -term treatment, the calcium levels in the serum and urine should be monitored and the kidney function should be checked by measurements of the serum creatinin. This review is particularly important in older patients and at the same time treatment with heart glycosides and diuretics. This also applies to patients with a pronounced tendency to form stone formation. If necessary, your doctor can reduce the dosage or interrupt the treatment, depending on the measured values.
    • You may only take the preparation after consultation with your doctor if you are downgraded by phosphate concentration in the blood (hypophosphatemia).
    • Additional intake of calcium and vitamin D may only be carried out under medical control, including a weekly review of the serum and urincalcium level. The Burnett syndrome can occur by oversupply with calcium while taking basic substances. The Burnett syndrome (milk alkali syndrome) is a calcium metabolic disorder with an increase in the blood-calcium level. It can be triggered by absorbing very large amounts of milk and/or calcium carbonate from other sources or by excessive use of antacids (agent against stomach acidification). This can lead to side effects as they are listed in category "side effects.
    • In patients who suffer from a disturbed kidney function, the drug is to be used with caution. The serum and urincalcium level should be checked in these patients. The risk of calcification of the soft tissues must be taken into account. Vitamin D in the form of Colecalciferol is not used by patients with severe kidney dysfunction. Therefore, these patients should receive other vitamin D preparations.
    • Children:
      • The preparation is not intended for taking children.

  • Wateriness and ability to use machines:
    • There is no data on the influence of this drug on the traffic and the ability to use machines. However, an influence is unlikely.

Pregnancy

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drug.
  • The drug should not be used during pregnancy and lactation due to the high dosage of vitamin D.
  • Pregnancy
    • During pregnancy, overdoses of vitamin D must be avoided, since a long -lasting increased calcium content in the blood (hypercalcemia) can lead to physical malformation and intellectual disabilities of the child.
  • Breastfeeding
    • Calcium passes into breast milk in small quantities without having a negative effect on the child.
  • Reproductive ability
    • No negative effects on reproductive ability are to be expected while taking these film -coated tablets.
