Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken
  • if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D₃ or one of the other components of this medicine
  • with increased calcium blood levels (hypercalcemia)
  • with increased calcium excretion in the urine (hypercalcuria)
  • if you suffer from an overfunction of the parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism)
  • for bone marks cancer (myeloma)
  • if you suffer from cancer that radiates on your bones (bone metastases)
  • if the limbs (extended immobilization) are immobilized for a long time, accompanied by hypercalcemia and/or hypercalcuria
  • with kidney stones (nephrolithiasis)
  • for calcium deposits in the kidneys (nephrocalcinosis)
  • with vitamin D overdosing (hypervitaminosis d)
  • with severe kidney problems
  • if you are under 18 years old.

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly as described here or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is
  • Adults and older people take 1 chewing tablet daily (corresponding to 1,000 mg calcium and 880 I.E. [Internationale Einheiten] Vitamin D₃).
  • Pregnant women only take 1/2 chewing tablets daily (corresponding to 500 mg calcium and 440 I.E. [Internationale Einheiten] Vitamin D₃). The daily dose of 1/2 chewing tablet must not be exceeded.
• Application in children and adolescents
  • The drug must not be taken by children and adolescents under the age of 18.

 

• Duration of treatment
  • Taking this drug is long -term treatment. Talk to your doctor how long you have the tablets.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.
  • If necessary, your doctor can reduce the dose or interrupt the treatment, depending on your blood levels.
  • Kidney problems
    • If you have kidney problems, you can only take the medicine with special caution, especially if you also take aluminum -containing products, since the citronic acid in the medicine can increase the absorption of aluminum. Your calcium levels in blood and urine must be monitored. In serious kidney problems, take other forms of vitamin D instead of Colecalciferol
  • Additional calcium and vitamin D nutritional supplements.
    • Medical control is necessary and a regular review of calcium levels in blood and urine by your doctor is required
  • Sarcoidosis (a disease of the immune system that can affect its liver, lungs, skin or lymph nodes).
    • Only take the medicine with special caution if you suffer from sarcoidosis. There is a risk that this medicine is too effective and can lead to an overdose of calcium in the body. The calcium levels in blood and urine must be monitored.
  • Restriction on movement and osteoporosis
    • In this case, this medicine must be used with special caution, since the calcium level can increase in your blood.
• Children and adolescents
  • The drug must not be taken by children and adolescents under the age of 18.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • No studies on the effects on the ability to travel and the ability to use machines were carried out. However, effects are unlikely.

Pregnancy

• Pregnancy.
  • If you are pregnant, you can take the medicine in the event of a calcium and vitamin D deficiency
  • The daily dose of 1/2 chewing tablet must not be exceeded. During pregnancy, the daily dose of calcium should not be higher than 1,500 mg and the daily dose of vitamin D₃.I.E. (international units).
  • Long -term overdose of calcium and vitamin D during pregnancy must be avoided, as this can lead to high calcium levels in the blood and have negative effects on the unborn child.
• Breastfeeding
  • The medicine can be used during breastfeeding. Since calcium and vitamin D pass into breast milk, first consult with your doctor whether your child already receives vitamin D-containing preparations.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drug.
