How does the ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient prevents water and salts from being removed from the intestinal contents. At the same time, it promotes water and salts into the intestine. This gains the intestinal contents of volume and becomes softer, which leads to a stool urge and relieved stool emptying.

  • Field of use:

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken
  • In the case of intestinal obstruction and hypersensitivity to bisacodyl or another component of the drug.
  • Constipation, combined with other symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting and fever, can be signs of a serious disease (intestinal obstruction, acute inflammation in the abdominal area). With such symptoms, you should not take the preparation or other medication and seek medical advice immediately.
  • In the event of diseases that are associated with disorders of the water and electrolyte balance, you should not take the dragees.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to this instruction.
• Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • Unless otherwise prescribed, children over 2 years receive 1 gastric -resistant tablet (dragee) (corresponding to 5 mg bisacodyl).
  • Adults and children over 10 years receive 1 - 2 gastrointestinal tablets (dragees) (corresponding to 5 - 10 mg bisacodyl).
  • Since constipation in small and small children needs medical clarification, please ask the doctor in these cases before the application.

 

• Duration of the application

  • The preparation should not be applied during breastfeeding, since there is not sufficient information about a possible transition to breast milk.

Miscellaneous

- Taking it in the evening leads to intestinal emptying after about 10 hours.
- Taking it in the morning before eating leads to bowel emptying after about 6 hours.
- Taking the drug over a long period of time often leads to intensification of intestinal inert.
- In the case of long -term or high -dose use, there is often increased losses of water, potassium and other salts. This can lead to disorders of heart function and muscle weakness, especially when taking drilling medication and cortisone preparations at the same time.
- In the event of permanent constipation, an examination by a doctor should be carried out.

- Bisacodyl should only be taken if long-term measures such as changing nutrition (ballast and source-rich food as well as sufficient fluid intake) and lifestyle (e.g. sufficient physical exercise) cannot be achieved or not sufficient success.
