How does the ingredient of the medicine work?

The active ingredient kills lice and mites after they have come into contact with it or eaten the active ingredient. Damiting effects on the eggs and larvae of these parasites are also suspected. The effect is based on severe damage to the nervous system and is directed against all insects.

Which age group must be observed?
- Infants in the first 2 months of life: the medicine must not be used.
- Children under 3 years: The medicine may only be used after consultation with a doctor or under medical check.

What about pregnancy and lactation?
- Pregnancy: Contact your doctor. Various considerations play a role in whether and how the medicine can be used during pregnancy.
- Still -time: Contact your doctor or pharmacist. He will check your special starting position and advise you accordingly whether and how you can continue with breastfeeding.

If the medicine has been prescribed to you despite a counter -notification, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit can be higher than the risk of using the application.

Field of use

• The active ingredient permethrin in the medicine belongs to the active ingredient group the so -called pyrethrine. Pyrethrine occurs in flowers of certain plants, e.g. B. in some types of cryant topics.
• The preparation is a medicine for one -off external treatment of the head hair when infestation with head lice (pediculus capitis).

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to Permethrin, other pyrethrin base, chrysanthemums or other components of this medicine.
  • for newborns and infants under 2 months.

dosage

• Always apply this medicine as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• For treatment, the hair must be soaked in the solution. The amount required for this depends on the hair for a short hair: about 25 ml is sufficient for short hair, with longer hair about 50 ml is required, with very long and dense hair.
• Children up to 3 years
  • After the completed 2nd month of life up to the age of 3, do not apply more than 25 ml in children.
• Duration of the application
  • If these uses are complied with, treatment success is usually achieved by a one -time application.
  • If lice living with the solution are found after 7-10 days, treatment with the preparation should be repeated. If living lice are found after 14-20 days, the treating doctor should be consulted to check suitable alternative treatment methods.
  • Afterwards, do not apply the solution without medical advice.
  • In the case of stubborn epidemics, the simultaneous treatment of all members of a community (school class, kindergarten group) is often required, even if not all members have symptoms.

 

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should
  • In the event of external use, overdose symptoms by the active ingredient permethrin are not to be feared.
  • The preparation is not suitable for full-body application, because otherwise poisoning from the auxiliary 2-propanol (isopropanol) can occur, especially in small children.
  • After accidental or intended intake, a doctor should be consulted as soon as possible who will decide on how to proceed.

 

 

• If you cancel the application
  • As a rule, a one -time application of the preparation is sufficient. However, if your doctor has recommended that you repeat the application, please follow his instructions. Otherwise, your illness may not be able to heal completely.

Taking

• The solution is only intended for external use on the hairy scalp and in the hair.
• Before using the solution, the hair is washed and terry. The preparation is massaged into the still slightly damp hair. Work from the outside and make sure that the hair near the scalp is wetted particularly well with the solution, because here are most lice and nisses. Long and particularly dense hair should be separated and treated.
• Use the solution only undiluted and not together with shampoo, soap or other care products.
• Leave the solution on the uncovered headhair for 30 - 45 minutes; Then wash it out with clear, warm water.
• Before drying the hair should all stable lice eggs (Nissen) stable on the hair are combed. This requires the use of a special lice comb.
• In order to ensure full effectiveness, the hair must not be washed with hair detergent (shampoo) at least during the first three days after using the preparation (rinse with water is allowed). As a result, the active ingredient remains on the hair and still kills lice hatching from the eggs after treatment, or the content of the nesse is significantly damaged.
• Checks as often as possible should be carried out with a lice comb as often, preferably on the day after treatment and about 4 - 5, 8 - 10 and 14 - 16 days after the preparation was used. Head and body lice are easily transferred from person to person, a control of all contact persons in the family area and in kindergarten/school is therefore strongly recommended.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the solution:
    • when treating infants: see below in the section "Children up to 3 years".
    • if you know allergies against chrysant issues or other basket blooms (composites). In this case, you should only use the preparation after consultation with your doctor.
  • The treatment should only be carried out if lice eggs or living lice have been found.
  • People who apply permethrin are advised to wear gloves.
  • The drug can deteriorate the symptoms of asthma or skin infections (eczema).
  • The medicine is harmful to all types of insect, as well as for water -living living beings (fish, daphnia, algae). Make sure that the solution does not get into aquariums and terrariums.
  • Children up to 3 years
    • Do not apply the preparation to newborns and infants in the first 2 months of life, unless it was expressly prescribed by your doctor. There are no sufficient experiences with infants and small children. The treatment of children up to the age of 3 should only be under close -meshed medical supervision.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Pregnancy
  • As a precaution, you should not use the preparation during pregnancy unless your doctor recommends it.
• Breastfeeding
  • Permethrin, the active ingredient from the solution, can pass into breast milk. During breastfeeding, you should take a breastfeeding break of 3 days after the preparation used.
