Field of use

Biofanal® combination package for vaginal fungus and candida infection of the outer genital area.
Package content: 6 vaginal tablets and 25 g ointment

BIOFANAL® combination packing is a fundamentally against yeast mushrooms for the treatment of fungal infections of the vagina and the outer genital area. The combination pack contains vaginal tablets and ointment with the active ingredient nystatin.

Mushrooms as pathogens

Mode of action

How does Nystatin work?
Nystatin binds the ergosterole of the mushroom cell membrane. This makes the membrane permers, i.e. more permeable to cell components, so that there is a disturbance of transport processes. The growth of the fungus is inhibited (fungistatic effect) and the fungus dies (fungicide effect).

How is Biofanal® used?
BIOFANAL® combination packing can optionally be used for 3-day short therapy or 6-day therapy. Two vaginal tablets are three days in a row or a vaginal tablet is inserted deep into the vagina in the evening before going to bed. In addition, the ointment is not applied too thin in the genital area twice a day, until the full healing (2-4 weeks). Please wash your hands before use.

Taking

• Component 1: ointment
  • The ointment is not too thin on the infected skin areas of the outer sex area twice a day.
• Component 2: vaginal tablets
  • Short -term therapy:
    • On 3 consecutive days, 2 vaginal tablets must be inserted deep into the vagina before going to bed.
  • 6 Day therapy:
    • On 6 consecutive days, a vaginal tablet must be inserted deep into the vagina before going to bed.
• Please wash your hands thoroughly before inserting the vaginal tablet and applying the ointment.
• The treatment should not be carried out during menstruation or should be completed before the start.

    • Due to the high osmolarity of Nystatin, an application for very underweight and immature premature babies is advised.
  • What else do you need to look out for?
    • If the ointment component is used by this drug and condoms or diaphragms at the same time, a reduction in tear resistance and thus impairing the safety of these products can come.
    • Due to the active ingredient nystatin, yellowish discoloration of the laundry or underwear are possible. These can be removed by normal washing.

Hints:
The ointment can affect the security of condoms, which is why additional contraceptive methods can be used in the treatment period.
Simultaneous treatment of the partner with the ointment can make sense to avoid renewed infections.
A possible yellow discoloration of laundry through Biofanal® can be washed out easily.

Hygiene: In the intimate area, clear water should be used for washing and if necessary, a cleaning product corresponding to the vaginal milieu.
Moisture by sweating offers good conditions for spreading mushrooms, so pay attention to breathable underwear at 60 ° C.
It is important to always wipe from front to back after the toilet.
