Field of use

BIOFANAL® Vaginal tablets is a means of yeast -mushrooms to treat fungal infections of the vagina. The vaginal tablets contain the active ingredient nystatin.

Mushrooms as pathogens
The presence of mushrooms on human skin and mucous membrane is initially normal. Only with an excessive increase does the fungal infection occur. When it comes to vaginal fungus, one speaks of vulvovaginal candidosis, derived from the most common pathogen Candida Albicans. Candida species are yeast mushrooms that are the cause of a number of infectious diseases.

The risk factors
An excessive increase in pathogens up to the vaginal fungus is based on a disruption of the healthy vaginal flora. Symptoms in vaginal fungus

Mode of action

How does Nystatin work?
Nystatin binds the ergosterole of the mushroom cell membrane. This makes the membrane permers, i.e. more permeable to cell components, so that there is a disturbance of transport processes. The growth of the fungus is inhibited (fungistatic effect) and the fungus dies (fungicide effect).

How is Biofanal® used?
The vaginal tablets can optionally be used for 3-day short therapy or 6-day therapy. Two vaginal tablets are three days in a row or a vaginal tablet is inserted deep into the vagina in the evening before going to bed. Please wash your hands before use.

Hints:
Simultaneous treatment of the partner with Biofanal® ointment can make sense to avoid renewed infections.
A possible yellow discoloration of laundry through Biofanal® can be washed out easily.

Hygiene:
In the intimate area, clear water should be used for washing and if necessary, a cleaning product corresponding to the vaginal milieu.
Moisture by sweating offers good conditions for spreading mushrooms, so pay attention to breathable underwear at 60 ° C.
It is important to always wipe from front to back after the toilet.
