Easy help with nail piling infections
It is estimated that every tenth in Germany suffers from a nail mushroom disease. The risk of infection lurks wherever people are on the road: the spores of the mushrooms that cause infection can stay extremely unruly on the floors of swimming pools and sports halls. But even in shoes, towels and socks, the pathogen can survive for several weeks.
Amorolfin STADA® is applied as nail polish.
The active ingredient it contains is effective against the known nail mushrooms.

How long should Amorolfin STADA® be used?
Nails grow slowly, so it can take 2 or 3 months to recognize an improvement. It is important to continue using the nail polish until the infection is eliminated and healthy nails have grown.

Can you use other nail products during treatment with Amorolfin STADA®?
Cosmetic nail polish or artificial nails should not be used during treatment with amorolfin STADA®.

Ingredients of Amorolfin STADA 5% (pack size: 3 ml):

The active ingredient is: Amorolfin. 1 ml of active ingredient nail polish contains 50 mg amorolfin according to 55.74 mg amorolf inhydrochloride.

The other components are ammonium methacrylate copolymer (type A), triacetin, butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, ethanol.

Amorolfin STADA® 5 % active ingredient nail polish is a clear, colorless to pale yellow solution.
Amorolfin STADA® 5 % active ingredient nail polish is available in packs with 3 ml and 5 ml of active ingredient nail polish with alcohol pumps, spatulas and nail files.

Contradictions

In the case of acquaintancethis product should not be applied to one of the ingredients mentioned above.

Application recommendation of Amorolfin STADA 5% (pack size: 3 ml):

Amorolfin STADA® only has to be applied 1 to 2 times a week.
For optimal treatment, the diseased area of the nail including the nail surface should first be filed using the attached nail file. The nail surface is then cleaned with the supplied alcohol swab. Then the nail polish can be applied with the reusable spatula.
The paint has dried about 3 minutes after application and is no longer influenced by soap and water. Treated hands and feet can therefore be washed as usual. The use of the nail polish should be continued without interruption until the infection is eliminated and the healthy nail has grown. This usually takes 6 months for fingernails and 9 to 12 months with footnails.

Taking

• Before the treatment begins:
  • Please shade the areas affected by the nail fungus infection in the illustration in the package insert. So you can compare how your nail originally looked when your treatment is checked. Shade the area infected at the time every three months until the infected nail is fully grown. If more than one nail is affected, choose the worst affected nail for this observation. Take the package insert if you go to your pharmacist or to your podiatrist to look up to inform them about the treatment progress.
• The following steps should be carefully followed for each affected nail:
  • Step 1: File nail
    • With a new file, carefully file the diseased nail areas, including the nail surface. Protect healthy nails as you do this so that you do not spread the infection.
    • Attention: A nail file used for infected nails may not be used for healthy nails, otherwise the infection will be spread! In order to prevent further spread of the infection, you should also make sure that besides you nobody else uses the nail files from your nail set.
  • Step 2: Clean the nail
    • Clean the nail surfaces with a swab (or nail polish remover). Repeat steps 1 and 2 for every affected nail.
  • Step 3: Apply paint
    • Immerse yourself in the nail polish bottle. The applicator must not be stripped off on the edge of the bottle before applying. Apply the paint evenly over the entire nail surface. Repeat this step for every infected nail.
    • Let each nail treated for about 10 minutes.
  • Step 4: Clean the applicator
    • The attached applicator can be used again. However, it is important to clean the applicator thoroughly after each application. To do this, use the same swab with which you cleaned the nail. Avoid touching the nail just treated with the swab. Close the nail polish bottle well. Carefully dispose of the swab.
  • Before using the nail polish, first remove the old paint from the nails with a swab and then filed as needed.
  • Then apply the nail polish as described above.
  • After drying the nail polish, you can wash your hands and feet as usual. Water and soap do not influence the effect of the paint. If you work with solvents such as turpentine replacement or brush cleaner, you have to wear rubber gloves or other waterproof gloves to protect the paint on the fingernails.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • All medicines can cause allergic reactions and although these are mostly mild, some can be serious. If this is the case, stop using the medicine, remove the nail polish with nail polish remover or dabs for cleaning and search for medical advice. The preparation must not be applied again.
  • If you develop one of the following symptoms, you urgently need medical help:
    • Complaints about breathing
    • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat
    • Severe rash
  • Special care in the application is required,
    • if you suffer from diabetes,
    • if you are treated due to a weak immune system,
    • if you have poor blood circulation in your hands and feet,
    • if your nail is very badly damaged or infected.
    • If the medicine gets in the eyes or ears, they must be flushed thoroughly with water immediately. Contact your doctor/pharmacist immediately or go to the closest hospital.
    • Do not bring the nail polish into contact with mucous membranes (e.g. mouth and nose).
    • Do not inhale.
    • Do not apply the paint to the skin around the nail.
    • Wear impermeable gloves if you use organic solvents to prevent the nail polish from being removed.
• Children and adolescents
  • There is still no experience to use Amorolfin Nagellack in infants, children and adolescents.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor for advice before using this drug.
• There are only limited experiences about the application of this preparation during pregnancy and lactation.
• It should not be used during pregnancy and lactation if it is not clearly necessary.

Active ingredient: terbinafin hydrochloride. For use against certain yeasts and skin mushrooms, of which the foot fungus is the best known. Contains benzyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol and cetylstearyl alcohol.
