Field of use

• The medicine is a neuropathy preparation
  • alpha lipoic acid, the active ingredient of the drug, is a substance formed in the body's own metabolism that influences certain metabolism of the body. In addition, alpha lipoic acid (antioxidative) properties that protect nerve cells from reactive degradation products.
• The preparation is used in the event of sensations in diabetic nerve damage (polyneuropathy)

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are hypersensitive to alpha lipoic acid or one of the other components of this medicine.

dosage

• The medicine is always to be applied exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Please adhere to the application regulations, otherwise the preparation cannot work properly!
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • In the event of a strong sensation of diabetic polyneuropathy, the daily dosage in adults is 600 mg of alpha lipoic acid (corresponding to 1 injection bottle) in the initial phase.
  • The injection solution is used over a period of 2-4 weeks in the initial phase of the treatment.
• In order to continue the treatment, 300 mg to 600 mg alpha lipoic acid should be taken daily in capsule, tablet or excessive tablet shape.
• Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should
  • In the event of overdose, nausea, vomiting and headache can occur.
  • In individual cases, when taking more than 10 g alpha lipoic acid, especially with strong alcohol consumption, severity, e.g. T. life-threatening symptoms observed (such as generalized seizures, derailment of the acid base household with lactate acidosis, serious disorders of blood clotting).
  • Therefore, if suspected of considerable overdose, an immediate clinic instruction and the initiation of measures according to the general treatment principles of poisoning cases are required.

 

• If you have forgotten the application
  • The double dose should not be applied if the previous application has been forgotten.

 

• If you cancel the application
  • The application should not be canceled without consulting the doctor.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• The intravenous administration should be slowly given by administering the content as a short infusion over at least 30 minutes. The infusion takes place directly from the bottle using a standard infusion cutlery and the enclosed light protection support. Because of the sensitivity to light of the active ingredient, the injection bottle should only be removed from the folding box shortly before use. It must be ensured that the minimum infusion duration of 30 minutes is observed.

• Special care in the application
  • In connection with the application as an infusion solution, allergic reactions (hypersensitivity reactions) to life -threatening shock (sudden circulatory failure) were observed.
  • Therefore, your doctor will become you during the application of early symptoms (e.g. Jup stimulus, nausea, malaise, etc.) monitor. If these occur, the therapy must be ended immediately; If necessary, further therapy measures are required.
  • In individual cases, the occurrence of particularly severe hypersensitivity reactions was observed in patients with a derivation of diabetes or poorly adjustable diabetes while using the drug.
  • Alpha lipoic acid reacts in vitro with metal ion complexes (e.g. with cisplatin).
    • Alpha-lipoic acid is included with sugar molecules (e.g. lävulo solution). The medicine is incompatible with glucose solution, wrestling solution and with solutions that are known to react with SH groups or disulfide bridges.
  • Only physiological saline solution must be used as a carrier solution for an infusion application.
  • Children
    • Children and adolescents are to be taken from treatment with the medicine because there are no clinical experiences.

 

• Wateriness and operating machines:
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using all medicines.
• It corresponds to the general principles of pharmacotherapy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding pharmaceuticals only to apply after careful use-risk assessment.
• Pregnant and breastfeeding should only undergo treatment with alpha lipoic acid after careful recommendation and surveillance by the doctor, since there are no experience with this patient group so far. Special studies on animals have not given any indications of fertility disorders or fruit -damaging effects.
• Nothing is known about a possible transfer of alpha lipoic acid to breast milk.
