Comfort Air technology
The Veroval® upper arm blood pressure meter with the Comfort Air technology ensures a gentle measurement. In contrast to most automatic blood pressure measuring devices with preset pumping pressure, devices with the Comfort Air technology are determined by the approximate systolic blood pressure each measurement and increased by 30 mmHg for higher measuring accuracy. This enables a more pleasant measurement on the upper arm.

Application Veroval®

Creating the cuff
Before you put on the cuff, insert the connection connector of the cuff into the cuff socket on the left side of the device.
Do not mechanically constrict the cuff hose, squeeze together or bend.
The measurement must be carried out on the undressed upper arm. If your cuff is completely open, lead the end of the cuff through the metal bracket so that a loop is created (see Fig.1). The cuff is to be placed on the upper arm so that the lower edge lies 2-3 cm above the elbow and above the artery (see Fig. 2). The hose points to the center of the palm.
Now lightly bend your arm, grasp the free end of the cuff, guide it taut below your arm and close the Velcro fastener.

Implementation of the measurement
Keep calm about 5 minutes before the measurement.
The measurement should be carried out in a quiet place, in a relaxed and convenient seating position.
The measurement can be carried out on the right or left arm. We recommend the measurement to carry on the left upper arm. In the long term, it should be measured on the arm, which shows the higher results. However, if there is a very clear difference between the values of the arms, you will clarify with your doctor which upper arm you use for the measurement.
Always measure on the same arm and relax the forearm on a surface.

Measurement of blood pressure
The 10 golden rules for blood pressure measurement
Many factors play a role in blood pressure measurements. These ten general rules help you to correctly carry out the measurement.

• 1. Keep calm about 5 minutes before the measurement. Even desk work increases blood pressure on average by approx. 6 mmHg systolic and 5 mmHg diastolic.
• 2. Close nicotine and no coffee up to an hour before the measurement.
• 3. Measure not under a strong urge to urinate. A filled bladder can lead to an increase in blood pressure of approx. 10 mmHg.
• 4. Completely undressed upper arm and measure in an upright, convenient attitude while sitting. The blood circulation must not be affected by e.g. rolled -up sleeves.
• 5. If you use a wrist measuring device, please keep the cuff at heart height during the measurement. With an upper arm measuring device, the cuff on the arm is automatically at the right height.
• 6. During the measurement, do not speak and do not move. Speaking increases the values of approx. 6–7 mmHg.
• 7. Wait two measurements at least one minute between two measurements so that the vessels for a new measurement are relieved of the pressure.
• 8. Measurement values always document with the date and time as well as with the medication taken, conveniently and easily with Veroval® Medi.Connect.
• Measure 9. Even if your values have improved, you should continue to check them yourself for control.
• 10. Measure at the same time. Since people have around 100,000 different blood pressure values every day, individual measurements have no meaning. Only regular measurements at the same time over a longer period of time enable a sensible assessment of the blood pressure values.
