Field of use

Allergodil acute (pack size: 10 ml) contains the active ingredient azelastin, a so -called antihistamine. Allergodil acute (pack size: 10 ml) thus prevents the effects of histamine that are released by the body in connection with an allergic reaction. Allergodil acute (pack size: 10 ml) is used to symptomatic treatment of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis). This is possible for children aged 6 and over.

Mode of action

If the allergic symptoms occur on the nose, the use of nasal sprays that contain antihistamines is suitable. These act directly at the point of the problem and block the effect of histamine. Allergodil acute (pack size: 10 ml) contains the active ingredient azelastin. This relieves the symptoms such as clogged or running nose, sneezing and itching within 15 minutes. In addition, antihistamines also have an anti -inflammatory effect because they stabilize the inflammatory cells and prevent histamine from getting into the nose. Further advantages of the nasal spray: It does not get tired and the effect lasts up to 12 hours.

Contradictions

• The preparation must not be used:
  • if they are hypersensitive (allergic) against the active ingredient azelastin hydrochloride or one of the other components;
  • in children under 6 years.

• Always apply the preparation exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed, 1 spray kick per nostril is sprayed twice a day (corresponds to 0.56 mg azelastin hydrochloride/day).

• Duration of the application
  • The duration of the application depends on the type, severity and course of the symptoms.
  • The preparation is suitable for long -term treatment.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the preparation is too strong or too weak.

• If you have used a larger amount than you should:
  • The preparation is used locally in the nose. Due to the low amount of active ingredients, even with extreme local overdose, symptoms of poisoning are not to be expected.
  • However, if larger quantities are accidentally swallowed (e.g. the content of the bottle by a child), the doctor should definitely be consulted.
  • Experience in humans after using toxic (very high, toxic) doses of azelastin hydrochloride are not available. Due to animal experimental findings, with extreme overdose and intoxication (poisoning), however, central nervous appearances (e.g. unrest, excitement or strongly pronounced, continuous fatigue or sleepiness) can be expected. If these symptoms occur, please see a doctor immediately.

• If you have forgotten the application:
  • If you have forgotten the application, no special measures are required. Continue the therapy with the same dosage at the next time. If necessary, you can also use the nasal spray between two times provided.

• If you cancel the application:
  • If possible, treatment should be carried out regularly until the freedom of the symptoms is reached.

Pregnancy

• Although there is no evidence of a fruit -damaging effect far beyond the therapeutic dosage area from animal experimental studies, it corresponds to the current general view of drug use not to apply the preparation in the first third of pregnancy.
• Since there is not yet sufficient experience, the preparation should not be used during breastfeeding.
