Capsamol ointment

Read the entire leaflet carefully because it contains important information for you. This medicine is available without prescription. However, in order to achieve the best possible treatment success, CapSamol ointment must be used properly.

1. What is Capsamol ointment and what is it used for?

Capsamol ointment is a herbal medicine for the external treatment of muscle aches.

Field of use:
Painful muscle hardship (painful muscle tension) in the shoulder arm area as well as in the area of the spine. For acute states, the z. B. with redness, swelling or overheating joints, with ongoing hinge complaints or with violent back pain, which radiate into the legs and / or with neurological failure phenomena (eg numbness feeling, tingling), a doctor should be visited.

2. What do you need to consider before using Capsamol ointment?

Capsamol ointment must not be used, in hypersensitivity or known allergy to cayenne pepper preparations, sorbic acid, potassium sorbate or against one of the other ingredients of the preparation.

Take special care with Capsamol ointment:
Cayenne pepper preparations irritate even in small amounts the mucous membranes very strong and generate a painful burning. Capsamol ointment must therefore not get into the eyes, on mucous membranes or open wounds. No application for damaged skin, z. B. after burns and injuries, with inflammation or eczema. An additional heat application should be avoided during treatment with CapSamol ointment. Capsamol-ointment-treated skin parts should not be washed with warm water or the sun can be placed, as burning or stinging can be reinforced. Also, physical activity (sweating) reinforces the heat effect. After the orders of the ointment, the hands should be carefully washed so that unintentional contact with other body parts is avoided. For prolonged use at the same place of application, sensitive nerves are expected with reversible damage. Due to the content of sorbic acid and potassium sorbate, propylene glycol, cetylstearyl alcohol, wool wax and butylhydroxytoluene can occur in the application of this medicament skin irritations. Also possible are late reactions such as contact dermatitis. Butylhydroxytoluene can cause irritation of the eyes and mucous membranes.

Children:
To apply this medicine in children, there are no sufficient undersuggestions. It should therefore be under children under children 12 years are not applied.

When using Capsamol ointment with other medicines:
The skin portions treated with Capsamol ointment should not be applied at the same time another medicinal product, since the effect of this medicine can be enhanced. In the simultaneous use of Capsamol ointment and taking certain muscle relays (mydocalm), it can lead to red-decrease stimulus and swelling, which can spread over the whole body. Please note that interactions can also occur if the distance between the application of the individual drugs is several hours.

Reinforced occurrence of cough with simultaneous treatment with ACE inhibitors. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you take / use other medicines or recently taken / applied, even if it is non-prescription medicines.

Pregnancy and breast feeding period:
There are no sufficient investigations for the use of Capsamol ointment in pregnancy and lactation. It should therefore not be used in pregnancy and lactation.

Important information about certain ingredients of Capsamol ointment:
Butylhydroxytoluene can locally limited skin irritation (eg Contact dermatitis), irritation of the eyes and the mucous membranes. Cetylstearyl alcohol can induce locally limited skin irritation (eg, contact dermatitis.
Propylene glycol can cause skin irritation. Sorbic acid and potassium sorbate can accommodate limited skin irritation (eg Contact dermatitis). Wool wax can trigger locally limited skin irritation (eg contact dermatitis.

3. How is Capsamol Ointment to apply?

Always use Capsamol ointment exactly as your statement in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
Type of application:
The medicine is suitable for external use only! Capsamol ointment is applied thinly over the painful muscle hard 2 to 4 times a day. For an area of 15 x 15 cm, about 2.5 to 4 g of ointment are used, this corresponds to an ointment strand of about 11 to 17 cm in length.

Duration of application:
Not longer than 2 days. Before a renewed application on the same application location, a period of 14 days must be awaited (See section 1 Applications).

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Capsamol ointment is too strong or too weak.

If you used a larger amount of CapSamor ointment than you should:
For prolonged use at the same place of application, sensitive nerves are expected with reversible damage. If the heat effect on the skin is felt too much on the skin, you can remove excess ointment residues with cold water and soap or with skin cream or an indifferent oil. If Capsamol ointment gets into the eyes, an ophthalmologist will immediately visit. As an immediate measure, a thorough rinsing of the eye with plenty of cold water is recommended.

If you forget the application of Capsamol ointment:
Do not apply twice the dose if you forget the previous application.

If you cancel the application of Capsamol ointment:
If you have further questions about the application of the medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Which side effects are possible?

Like all medicines, CapSamol ointment can have side effects, but they do not have to occur each other.

The frequency information on side effects is based on the following categories:
Very often: more than 1 treated from 10
Frequently: 1 to 10 treated from 100
Occasionally: 1 to 10 treated from 1 000
Rarely: 1 to 10 treated Von 10 000
Very rare: less than 1 treated from 10 000
Not known: Frequency on the basis of the available data does not estimate.


Possible side effects:
In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions (urticarial eXanthem) occur. They express themselves through the formation of squads or bubbles and itching.
When this side effects occur, please do not apply CapSamol ointment anymore and talk to your doctor.
Very often, it comes after the orders of the ointment to a burning or stinging pain with exuding redness and heat development. This is an expression of the effects and usually sounds in further treatment. Therefore, this should, generally mild local response, in the interest of the long-term therapeutic (analgesics) Effects tolerated as possible. When this reaction is perceived as too much, the affected skin districts are thoroughly free with cold water and soap or an indifferent oil from the applied medicine.

For inhalation or contact with the nasal mucosa, it can lead to coughing or niescent.

5. How to keep CapSamol ointment?

Store drug out of reach of children.

Storage conditions:
Please keep this medicine inaccessible and inaccessible to children. Do not store more than 25 degrees Celsius. Protect from sunlight.

Note on durability after a break:
After breaking the tube, the ointment has a 6-month durability. The expiry date is printed on this pack. Do not use the medicine after this date!
