Field of use

The nasal spray has a long -lasting effect and frees the nose up to 12 hours.

The dosing dripper enables an exact dosage. The "Springender drops" technology ensures that if you press once, exactly one drop is emitted.

Nasivin® dosing dripper for babies is free of preservatives. The active ingredient oxymetazoline is contained in an infant -friendly concentration.

Mode of action

The Nasivin dosing droppers without preservatives for babies (package size: 5 ml) contains the active ingredient oxymetazoline hydrochloride, which carefully swells the sensitive nasal mucosa. This active ingredient causes the inflamed nasal mucosa to swell and reduces excessive secretion separation. At the same time, the ear trumpets are kept free and a swelling of the throat mucosa. An undisturbed breathing is possible again.

0.1 mg oxymetazolin hydrochloride in aqueous solution

Auxiliary substances:
Citronensic acid monohydrate, sodium citrate 2 H2O, glycerol 85 %, cleaned water

Contradictions

In the event of hypersensitivity to one of the above -mentioned ingredients and when the nasal mucosa is drained dry, the product should not be used. In the case of the following diseases, taking the drug should be discussed with a doctor: increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma), severe cardiovascular diseases, pheochromocytoma (rare kidney tumor) or metabolic disorders (e.g. thyroid overactive, diabetes). A long -lasting use of punching of mucous membranes can become constant swellung (thereby clogged nose) and finally lead to the loss of the nasal mucosa. In principle, long -term use should therefore be carried out under medical control.

Application recommendation for Nasivin Dosier droppers without preservatives for babies (pack size: 5 ml):

During the first 4 weeks of life:
2- 3 times a day 1 drop of the 0.01 %solution in every nose opening,

From the 5th week of life to the end of the 1st year of life:
Apply 1 - 2 drops 2 - 3 times a day in each nose opening.

Taking

• This preparation is intended for nasal application.
• Set the bottle opening down and pump the finger cover several times by pressure on the finger cover until a complete drop escapes. The application can only be done with the lying baby with a covered head. Keep the downstream bottle opening directly in front of the nostril and insert the solution into each nostril.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Particular caution when using this drug is required:
    • for newborns and young infants. There are individual reports on serious side effects (in particular respiratory arrest) when using the recommended dose in this age group. Dose crossing must be avoided.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine,
    • if you suffer from an increased intraocular pressure, especially narrow -angle glaucoma
    • if you have severe cardiovascular diseases for you (e.g. B. coronary heart disease) or high blood pressure (hypertension)
    • if they are treated with monoaminoxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors) or other potentially blood pressure-enhancing medicines
    • if you suffer from a tumor of the adrenal gland (Phäochromocytom)
    • if you under metabolic disorders, such as B. Overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) and diabetes (diabetes mellitus) suffer
    • when your prostate is enlarged
    • if you suffer porphyria from metabolic disease.
  • Longer application than recommended and overdose should be avoided. The effect of decongestant nasal drops can decrease if used for longer and overdose (tolerance development). This can lead to an application of higher doses or more frequent use, which in turn can result in permanent use. If used for longer or overdose, the treatment should be ended immediately.
  • The permanent use of mucosal peeling nasal drops can lead to chronic swelling and finally to the loss of the nasal mucosa.
  • Infants and toddlers
    • In the case of underweight infants and premature babies, the dosage may only take place according to the doctor.

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • This medicine has no or a negligible influence on the traffic and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Since the safety of this medicine is not sufficiently proven during pregnancy and breastfeeding, you may only apply it on the advice of your doctor and only after he has carried out careful benefits/risk assessment. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the recommended dosage must not be exceeded, since overdose can affect blood supply to the unborn child or reduce milk production.
