Field of use

The cerascreen food reaction test is a self-test for home, with which you can use a small blood sample to determine from your finger berry whether your body reacts to the food with antibodies that trigger a large part of the allergies and intolerances.
For this purpose, our laboratory measures the concentration of antibodies of the IGE and IGG4 types in their blood. An increased number of these antibodies does not yet mean that they have food allergy or food intolerance. However, the test provides you with the first clues that you can continue to investigate. For eggyou should clarify a final diagnosis with a doctor.
Note: It is medically controversial that an increased concentration of specific IgG4 antibodies is related to food intolerance.

The Cerascreen® food reaction test is a self-test for home with which you can analyze your blood on the concentration of IGE and IGG4 antibodies. Both IGE and IGG4 are so -called immunoglobulins. They defend substances in our body that are recognized by our immune system as harmful. With the Cerascreen food reaction test you will find out which food your body is reacting to the formation of IGE and IGG4 antiquities.

Notes on possible food allergies
The IGE is a special antibody class that recognizes foreign and hostile fabrics and prevents it from penetrating the body. It therefore triggers reactions that make it difficult or block admission. This leads to inflammation, which in turn can result in the typical allergy symptoms. Symptoms such as digestive problems, rashes and itchy can be an indication of a food allergy together with an increased concentration of specific IGE antibodies.
The Cerascreen® Food Reaction Test covers the first step of the cause research. It allows sensitization to be determined by a food by determining IGE antibodies in the blood. However, only doctors may provide a secure diagnosis of an allergy. If you want to make sure whether you suffer from a food allergy, discuss the results of the antibody analysis with your doctor.

Notes on possible food intolerance
The antibody class Igg4 is active when foreign substances are already in the body and have to be deactivated as quickly as possible. Our defense system against pathogenic bacteria and viruses is essentially based on the IGG4 antibody. In order to block and destroy foreign bodies, a defense and inflammatory reaction is started.

The formation of IGG4 antibodies can offer a first clue for the existence of possible food intolerance. In medicine, however, it is currently controversial whether the concentration of specific IGG4 antibodies is related to food intolerance. We therefore first recommend discussing the results with a doctor.

How does the food reaction test work?
Cerascreen tests are quick, simple and safe. Due to the latest laboratory analytical process, we need very little blood out of our fingers (approx. 5 drops of blood) for the analysis.
With the help of the blood withdrawet, a small blood sample is removed from the finger and sent to our diagnostic specialist laboratory free of charge in the enclosed return envelope.
There the blood is checked for the presence of antibodies for the allergens. The personal result report can be viewed a few working days later in your online customer area. In addition to a detailed evaluation of the test result, you will receive individual recommendations for action on how you can interpret the test results and continue to investigate allergies and intolerances.
The cerascreen food reaction test examines the concentration of specific IGE antibodies for 26 different foods and the concentration of specific IgG4 antibodies to 41 different foods.
